The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has said it will pay the Super Falcons their outstanding bonuses once FIFA pays up the grants to the World Cup participating teams.
Recall there were reports of the Super Falcons alleged threat to boycott their first game against Canada over unpaid bonuses.
But speaking yesterday in Australia, the Director of Media and Communications with the NFF, Ademola Olajire, explained that the girls were being owed some bonuses even before the commencement of the World Cup, pinning the situation to financial challenges faced by the NFF.

He said, “None of the teams in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup have been paid allowances because FIFA has not disbursed any money. We have not paid the bonuses for some of the friendly games played in preparation for the World Cup because we don’t have enough money.
“The NFF needs more money to administer football in Nigeria because managing over nine national teams requires a lot of money. The NFF has not been finding it easy, but as soon as FIFA releases money for teams at the World Cup, we will settle the players’ bonuses.”
